The Rebirth
The Rebirth is a ritual carried out every year in the Plain of Thrones before the assembled tributaries off all the peoples subject to the Chosen. This is when the flesh-tithe is brought to Osrakum. The Chosen, arrayed on the thrones of the Umbilicus, witness the renewal of the God Emperor, a repurifying of his blood to purest ichor, and with Their renewal, the Commonwealth is renewed. The Apotheosis is a special version of the Rebirth, where the elected Candidate is transformed into the God Emperor
The Iron Door
The Iron Door is the vast double-leaved portal that gives access to the Thronehall in the Halls of Thunder. It is made of iron, a fabulous, rare, precious substance found only in stones that fall from the sky
Great-Rings
Great-Rings are elaborately carved pieces of jade that fit over several fingers at once. Great-Rings may be worn in a number matching a person’s blood-rank: thus a person of the blood-rank three is entitled to wear three Great-Rings
Ruling Rings
A Ruling Ring is an heirloom of a House of the Chosen that is passed down from Ruling Lord to Ruling Lord and symbolises his right to rule his House. It also allows a Ruling Lord to cast the block votes of his House—the votes of its women and children. A Ruling Ring can also be used to seal a letter with the authority of its Ruling Lord
The Pomegranate Ring
the Pomegranate Ring is worn by He-who-goes-before as a sign and symbol of his post. The ring fits over the middle finger, but instead of its red jewel being worn on the outside of the hand, it pushed down over the palm. The wearer of the Pomegranate Ring can cast 400 votes on top of those he already possesses. In a way, the Pomegranate Ring is a special case of a Ruling Ring, and He-who-goes-before is the Ruling Lord of the Great

The Cloaca is a channel cut into the rock floor of the Canyon of the Three Gates, allowing excess water in the Skymere, in Osrakum, to be drained out into the City at the Gates and, ultimately, the Gatemarsh
