Although this image is not directly related to the Stone Dance it does however indicate how deep has been my fascination with masks.

As one of my reviewers said, masks are a major trope or symbol of the Stone Dance. They emerged from my subconscious for reasons which I did not at the time understand. I am not sure I fully understand them even now - and nor do I want to probe this too deeply in case I should disturb my creative process. Suffice it to say that in the Stone Dance there are many more kinds of masks than those the Masters wear.
