Phamie Gow playing her clarsach...

Phamie Gow playing her clarsach...

I have just discovered an email that Aaron Miller sent me from the States in July last year?!? Yup, it happens… I do try to at least read any fanmail sent to me… but some slip through the cracks… Anyway, Aaron pointed out that both links on this page linked to the same piece of music… I have now… FINALLY… corrected this… They’re actually not just the same piece of music at different bit rates, but actually separate recordings…

Does anyone out there want an apple lossless version of this music…? If so I could try and get one up…

This is a picture that my friend Rem sent to me to celebrate the launch of The Third God yesterday… I thought I’d share it with you since it not only amused me, but also intrigued me… I had some notions what it might mean – especially gazing at the pile of rather unfortunate looking corpses on the ground – I thought that it was all the king’s horses and all the king’s men that were supposed to put humpty together again… but here they seem to be the ones that are ‘broken’… Anyway, this is what Rem said:

it’s about the interview… Not letting people be too
comfortable behind their walls; you sitting on the wall, seeing the horror outside. Sartlar, perhaps, WW1, Rwanda… And there’s the ‘healing’ aspect of it too, so hence also the Humpty Dumpty (’putting Humpty Dumpty together again’) reference. There’s some wee hairline cracks, because the healing may not be complete…

so there you have it… these are the kind of friends I have…… *grin*

a cornerstone at my house...

Yesterday I wrote the first scene of my new book. Like laying a cornerstone, this determines the orientation of the entire structure of the book… It’s a big moment for me since it’s the first new text I’ve written for… well, YEARS!!?

Perhaps not incidentally, today the English paperback edition of The Third God has been launched…

The Third God - english language paperback edition...

I have received copies of Transworld’s paperback edition of The Third God – and a lovely little brick each one is too! Somehow, by cunning, and no doubt the use of thinner paper, it appears to be exactly the same size as The Standing Dead though it’s 50% larger… What do you care about all this talk of dimensions?! The key thing is that it’s going to be available from the 4th of March…

Here is an interview I did with the brilliant Angeline Adams that has just been published on Strange Horizons. I must say that it is one of the most intelligent, penetrating and, thus, revealing interviews I’ve taken part in – and I’m not just saying that because I’m in it *wide grin*
