Biog - progress report, March 2008

At last some news on the publication of the third and final part of the Stone Dance. My UK publishers (Bantam Press, Transworld) have scheduled it for publication in March 2009. They've warned me that this date may change. Unfortunately, I can't at the moment give you any dates for the other editions. One thing's for sure, the translations can't begin until the editing on the UK text is completed... which procedure might involve Tor, in the US. It's all a little up in the air at the mo, but I will, of course, pass on more news the moment I get it.

Apart from spending time exploring various ideas for my next book, I have been doing other things in preparation for the launch of the book.

Kev and I are working on the successor to this site. This will be considerably larger than the current one to take into account all kinds of material relating to the third book, as well as a load of stuff I have held back concerning the trilogy as a whole. I intend there to be four entry points: one for each of the three books in the trilogy and another for readers who have read through to the end. The first three entry points are to allow a reader to get whatever information he/she wants without danger of spoilers. The fourth entry will give access to areas which look at the trilogy as a whole. Additionally, we are going to add a blog which, among other things, will provide a place where we can discuss the books together.

Meanwhile, I have opened accounts on Facebook and MySpace, both as another way for you to contact me, and so that you can get in touch with others interested in the Stone Dance. Do join up as my friends.

Finally, I am going to attend Eastercon 2008 and will be there from the 21st to the 24th of March. The decision to go was made too late for me to be on many of the panels, but I will be wandering around and hope to see you there. I know this is short notice... but if it turns out that any of you are going, we could, perhaps, arrange to meet up. There may also be a book signing - further info on that when I know for sure.
