Biog - progress report, March 2004

I am writing something here in response to many requests from you, my readers, for an update on how the third book is doing.

In June last year, I was hoping for "plain sailing"... If I had only known it, I was sailing into stormy seas. Two weeks after this statement of optimism, my house was substantially damaged by fire. Though work has now finally begun on its repair, I am still living (and working) in temporary accomodation.

Happily,in spite of these difficulties and others, I now seem to be coming into calmer waters and appear to be on course to complete the first draft in July sometime. The deadline I have agreed for delivery of a first submission to my UK publisher is Christmas this year. Which would mean that that edition should be published sometime in 2005.

I know that this does seem a long time to wait, but there it is. Believe me, I am longing to complete the Stone Dance, but it has to be true to itself.
